Melody Kingman is a native Californian who studied guitar under the direction of Chris Shahin (San Jose Guitar School of Music) since she was 8 years old. She continued her music adventure at West Valley Community College and San Jose State University (with Steven Lin) studying music education and music theory. Together with her fellow classmates, she formed the Night Owl Quartet and currently keeps studying group music. Since 2006, she has been teaching music at the San Jose Guitar School of Music located in Campbell, CA. Melody believes music is extremely important for child development, improving connection of one human to another, and is truly an art that does not need to be competitive. Her mission is to spread awareness of how live music can help change perspective and bring people closer together in a community.
